Lindsay Lohan nominated for GoreMate 2009

Gorezone Magazine Film Festival have announced the nominees for this year's GoreMate Awards - which include the lovely Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Seyfried for I Know Who Killed Me and Solstice respectively.

The Goremate Award winner will be announced prior to the Closing Night Film at the Prince Charles Cinema on Saturday 31 October.

Horsemen of the Apocalypse (AKA Horsemen on its US release) is to be released on DVD & Blu-ray on October 19th.

From producer Michael Bay (Transformers, Bad Boys) and directed by celebrated music promo director, Jonas Akerkund comes a terrifying story of a recently widowed detective played by Dennis Quaid on the hunt for a serial killer whose murders seem to be based on the Biblical prophecies concerning the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death.

Kyle Rankin is known for his bug-tastic shorts on Atom Films and has since gone to make his brilliant debut feature, Infestation. The good news is that he has agreed record and audio commentary for the UK DVD & Blu-ray release alongside the film's cinematographer, Thomas E. Ackerman A.S.C.

Infestation is released on DVD and blu-ray in the UK On Sept 7th.

Well, not so new now, but another interesting teaser poster from Overture for the forthcoming release of Christian "Antibodies" Alvart's Pandorum. Due for release in the UK in September it's looking very promising and any film starring the brilliant Ben Foster has got to be good.

Infestation & The Butterfly Effect 3 are coming to DVD & Blu-ray!

After his highly regarded quartet of Atomfilms on-line shorts, "Hell Holes", Kyle Rankin's long awaited feature length debut, Infestation, starring Chris Marquette and Ray "Twin Peaks" Wise is finally winging its way onto DVD and Blu-ray on September 7th.

One week later on September 14th will see the release of the second sequel in the The Butterfly Effect series of films. After Ashton Kutcher and Eric Lively, it'll be Chris Carmack's turn to reap the consequences of abusing a time-shifting power that is beyond his control.

The film will also be available on Blu-ray as part of the Butterfly Effect Trilogy that includes the 3 films in all their hi-def glory!

Splinter wins "Best Film" at 'A Night of Horror, International Film Festival' in Australia

Toby Wilkin's 'Splinter' took 3 awards at the 2009 Australian Horror Festival including "Best Film" together with "Best Special Effects" with Shea Whigham taking the award for "Best Male Performance".

The Festival took place in Sydney running from March 25th to 3rd April 2009.
