Sam Worthington

Sam Worthington graduated from NIDA (Australia’s prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art)

in 1998 at the age of 22. He went on to diverse theatre and television roles for which he achieved

considerable critical acclaim. His first big screen feature was in the Australian movie Bootmen and

minor roles proceeded with Hart’s War alongside Bruce Willis and Australian drama Dirty Deeds

which also starred Toni Collette and John Goodman.

After starring in Gettin’ Square opposite 300’s David Wenham, Sam went on to star in Cate

Shortland’s Somersault for which he received a Best Actor award at Australia’s Film Institute

Awards (AFI’s). The film received an unprecedented 13 AFI’s in total including a Best Actress

award for up-and-coming Australian actress Abbie Cornish.

Greg Mclean cast Sam as ‘Neil Kelly’ in his feature ROGUE after a stellar screen test from the

young actor. Sam has recently been cast to play the lead role of ‘Jack Sully’ in James Cameron’s

upcoming epic Avatar which is set to catapult the young actor to international stardom.
